The $500,000 ONE Esports Jakarta Invitational announced for end of November 2020 !!!

Although the Jakarta Invitational matches the next season’s Majors prize pool, the tournament won’t be a part of the DPC system. In fact, it’s very likely that it will be the first third party tournament to be held after TI10.

Initially announced to take place mid-April, the event was pushed for November 23-29. The new dates coincide with the first week free of DPC matches in the newly revealed Regional Leagues system. The first season of Regional Leagues will conclude on the 15th of November, while the first Major held on the system is scheduled to begin on December 11.

Given the time frame for the ONE Esports Jakarta Invitational, the tourney might become an attractive option for all the major qualified teams as they could use it as a training ground and as the best opportunity to play against teams outside their region before going to the Major. A total of 10 squads will receive direct invites to the event, while two more will join them via SEA dedicated qualifiers held for teams from the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

Organized alongside PGL, the One Esports Dota 2 Jakarta Invitational will be the third large scale event brought to Southeast Asia by the Singapore based organization.

ONE Esports made a rather successful entrance in the Dota 2 competitive scene in December 2019 with their $500,000 Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore, also organized in a partnership with PGL. At the end of that tournament, the two companies announced that they will join forces to host the last Major before TI10, the ONE Esports Singapore Major which will take place June 20-28 at the Shrine Singapore Indoor Stadium.
